Road checkpoints have been set up in the Polish capital.

Roadblocks were set up in the Polish capital, and security was stepped up along the access routes to the city after six people were killed the day before six people were killed in a shooting in the center of Krakow.

This was reported by Polsat News.

Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski has instructed city services to set up roadblocks at the entrances to streets leading to Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. Law enforcement officials have also been instructed to step up security on the busiest streets.

"In light of the tragic events in Kraków, I have instructed the city security forces and emergency services to exercise particular vigilance, especially with regard to video surveillance, particularly in the area of the Royal Route, the Old Town, and in areas where people gather," said the mayor of Warsaw.

According to the official, additional police units have been deployed to the Polish capital. City services are installing concrete barriers at entry points, specifically on Świętokrzyska, Medowa, Karowa, and Królewska Streets.

“First and foremost, we urge everyone to remain calm and rely on reliable sources of information. We also ask that you limit your visits to the city’s busiest areas until the causes and circumstances of the tragic events in Kraków have been clarified,” Mayor Trzaskowski urged.

On Saturday, November 7, a shooting occurred in Kraków’s central Rynek Square. A driver drove into the city’s main square and opened fire.

Six people are known to have been killed so far. The attacker has been detained.
