Belarusians stand out among other groups of migrants with a high percentage of specialists.

Data from the General Statistical Office of Poland (GUS) show that by the end of August 2025, the number of foreign workers in Poland increased by 5.6% compared to the same period in 2024 and reached 1 million 103 thousand people, reports Polskie Radio.

The share of foreigners in the total number of workers on the Polish labor market amounted to The majority - almost 60% - were men.

According to the latest GUS data, the number of Belarusians working in Poland in 2025 was estimated at 117 thousand people (as of March 31, 2025), which was about 11% of all foreigners working in Poland.

Belarusians became the second largest national group among working foreigners after Ukrainians, who make up about 67% of the total.

According to the Office for Foreigners, in September 2025, almost 146 thousand Belarusians had valid documents allowing them to reside and work, which confirms their high activity on the Polish labor market.

In 2025, Belarusians in Poland worked in a wide range of industries - from simple jobs to highly specialized IT sector. According to statistics and reports from GUS, the National Bank of Poland (NBP) and the Social Insurance Fund (ZUS), their most common fields of work are:

construction and transportation. These are traditionally the strongest sectors for men from Belarus. They work mainly as professional drivers (international and domestic transportation) and skilled construction workers;

IT and professional services. Belarusians stand out among other migrant groups with a high percentage of professionals. Many work in IT and communications, which is also a consequence of the relocation of technology companies after 2020;

industry and manufacturing. A significant group finds work as machine operators, assemblers and industrial workers;

Commerce and services (HoReCa). Belarusians work in retail trade, restaurant and hotel business.

62% of migrants from Belarus have higher education, which contributes to their growing presence in the sectors of business services and IT.

According to the report of the National Bank of Poland for November 2025, approximately 14% of economically active Belarusians run their own business in Poland.

57% of respondents have a permanent job, and 67% plan to stay in Poland on a permanent basis.

By the end of 2025, almost 139,000 Belarusian citizens were registered with the Social Insurance Fund, which confirms their sustainable integration into the Polish labor market.

At the end of August last year, 424,700 employed foreigners in Poland worked in freelance mode. This is the most common form of employment.
