The U.S. Has Released The Numbers Trump Would Like To Keep From Voters Forever

Democrats are well positioned for a rematch in congressional elections.

One year after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, three national polls have recorded a sensational drop in his popularity.

This was reported by Axios.

According to Harvard CAPS/Harris, for the first time in Trump's second term, a majority of registered voters - 51% - said Joe Biden was doing a better job as president. This is a stark contrast to February 2025, when Trump's advantage on a similar question was a robust 58%.

Analogous trend is confirmed by YouGov/Economist: only 37% of Americans now approve of the current head of state's performance, one of the lowest numbers in his political career.

Why the "credit of trust" is exhausted

Experts identify three main reasons for Americans' "political hangover".

Border crisis and radical methods. Recent NBC News polls show that 49% of adults "strongly disapprove" of Trump's tough immigration policies in the wake of the tragic incidents in Minneapolis.

Economic frustration. Although Trump has promised a quick fix to inflation, his net approval rating for the economy is -18, 26 points worse than at the same point in his first presidency.

Loss of youth. Support among voters ages 18-29 has collapsed to a disastrous -42 points. Young Americans increasingly attribute falling living standards and rising housing costs to the policies of the current administration.

What's next: the threat of a "Blue Wave"

For Republicans, the numbers are a wake-up call ahead of congressional elections. According to analysts, if the trend continues, Democrats have a good chance of a rematch, even despite the huge financial advantage of the Republican voting pool.

"Donald Trump's base among voters without a college degree, which has been his unshakable foundation, is starting to crack," said CNN analyst Harry Enten.
