Senator Graham: I Want To Provide Ukraine With Tomahawk Missiles

Cruise missiles will change the military balance.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has said he wants U.S. supplies of Tomahawk cruise missiles from Ukraine - so that official Kiev can hit Russia's drone infrastructure.

The senator said this on February 13 when he spoke at the Munich Security Conference.

"I want to provide Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. I want the U.S. to supply Tomahawk missiles to strike the infrastructure that Putin is counting on to produce drones and everything else. I want to change the military balance," Graham said.

In addition, the senator said the U.S. should put more pressure on Moscow to help peace talks with Ukraine.

Graham also said he supports a bipartisan package of sanctions against Russia that is "stuck" in Congress. However, the senator is convinced that US President Donald Trump will sign it eventually, Politico reported.

"He asked me probably three times, where's the bill? He went from 'I don't know about that' to 'Yeah, that's a good idea,'" Graham claims.

Politico believes Graham clearly meant that Trump's push for Europe "ultimately strengthened NATO," and Alliance allies must now turn the increase in defense spending - into more support for Ukraine.

"In the end, in 2028, 2032 or 2040 - whenever he (President Trump - ed.) leaves - we will have a stronger NATO and a weaker Russia," he said.

Graham believes it's time for U.S. allies to stop worrying about President Donald Trump's recent attempt to take control of Greenland and start working more on strengthening NATO.

The senator also predicts that talks between the U.S., Greenland and Denmark over the island's future will lead to an agreement to expand U.S. military infrastructure in the Scandinavian country.

"Who cares who owns Greenland. The point is that Greenland will be more fortified because Donald Trump, once he feels it's his brand or his contribution, will act big," Graham concluded.
