Evacuations are underway in the Russian city.

Residents of Russia's Belgorod have been left without heating and hot water at least until the end of the heating season. The energy sector has been hit.

The governor of Russia's Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, complained in Telegram that energy facilities have been seriously damaged.

"We understand that those houses in the city of Belgorod that are connected to the centralized heat supply will not be able to receive hot water until the end of the heating season," Gladkov said.

According to him, the damage after the shelling is "very large and very serious."

He pointed out that water supply, sewerage, gas, heat and light are currently being supplied with the help of both permanent and backup power supply sources.

Because of the difficult situation, children and lonely pensioners are being evacuated from the city.
