The dictator has been advised to "remain vigilant" when dealing with the US.

Moscow reminded Lukashenko of Russian and Chinese interests when making a "grand bargain" with Washington. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin in an interview with TASS "in a friendly manner" urged Belarus to "remain vigilant" when making deals with the United States.

Galuzin was asked how he might comment on the lifting of US sanctions on Belavia.

The Russian official replied that he welcomed the removal of Belavia from the U.S. Treasury Department's blacklist, but noted that "in general, the large-scale sanctions regime against Belarus continues to operate."

Galuzin said that the U.S. administration has not yet abandoned the policy of pressure on Lukashenko, and "the White House is ready to use the levers of economic influence at any time it needs."

The Russian diplomat said that the Russian Federation welcomes "any constructive undertakings in the context of normalizing the Belarusian-American dialogue," but at the same time they "in a comradely manner" urge "Belarusian friends to remain vigilant."

The Russian official stressed that Minsk's "grand bargain" with Washington is possible only if "there is no damage to its cooperation with key allies - Russia and China."
