"Lukashenko Has Been Sent A Signal That There Will Be No Kolya."

It's time to prepare for a change of power in Belarus.

The Insider journalist Timur Olevsky told about the signals for Lukashenko from Moscow in his commentary "Radio Svaboda".

Moscow believes that Belarus is on the verge of a coup. Russia threatens to defend its right to Belarus even with the use of nuclear weapons. Where do such alarmist statements come from and what do they mean?

The Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia, followed by Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, speak about another attempt of the West to tear Belarus away from Russia.

The words about "geopolitical game," "conspiracies," and even the need to guarantee the security of Belarus by all available means. In this context, Zakharova even mentioned nuclear weapons.

Timur Olevsky points out that the SVR and Maria Zakharova "are specific actors who are systematically engaged in public provocations."

"When they say something, very often they create a smoke screen. Both before the war and since its beginning, the SVR and Zakharova, especially when acting together, accused someone of something they were going to do themselves. And then they did it themselves. The SVR before the attacks on Ukraine repeatedly promised provocations against Putin. Before using some barbaric weapons, they said that they were going to use such weapons against Russia and that Russia would definitely give a "worthy response."

Olevsky believes that the SVR and Zakharova's statements show that they are going to do exactly what they are trying to accuse the West of doing.

"They say that they are supposedly trying to protect Belarus from revolution. In fact, it means the following: it's time to prepare for a change of power in Belarus and at the key moment be ready to intercept this power."

In Olevsky's opinion, Lukashenko should perceive the statements of the SVR and Zakharova as a threat.

"Belarus, from Moscow's point of view, is an appanage princedom. They have tolerated Lukashenko for many years. In 2020 Putin started to break him, and in 2022 he broke him. But Lukashenko continues to show that he still has signs of statehood. And they are sending him a signal that no Kolya will be the next president of Belarus," said Timur Olevsky.
