Ukraine's Former Energy Minister Reported On Suspicion

As part of the Midas case, the former Minister of Energy 2021-2025 German Galushchenko has been informed of suspicion. According to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the circle of suspects in the case was expanded: the former Minister of Energy (2021-2025) was exposed in money laundering and participation in a criminal organization.
According to the investigation, in February 2021 on the island of Anguilla (self-governing overseas territory of the UK) on the initiative of the participants of the criminal organization, exposed in November 2025, a fund was registered, which was to attract about 100 million dollars of "investments".
"The fund was headed by a long-time acquaintance of the participants In order to conceal his involvement, two companies integrated into the structure of a trust registered in St. Kitts and Nevis were set up in the Marshall Islands. The beneficiaries of the companies were the former wife and four children of the high-ranking official.
"These companies became "investors" of the fund (by buying its shares), and the participants of the criminal organization in the interests of the suspect began to transfer funds to the accounts of the fund opened in three Swiss banks," - said the NABU.
The materials obtained in Ukraine and through the procedure of international cooperation with the competent authorities of a number of countries show that during the period of the suspect's tenure in office through his trusted person, known to the NABU. The rest was put on deposit, from which the family of the high-ranking official received additional income and spent it on their own needs.
"On February 15, 2026, while trying to leave the territory of Ukraine, the former high-ranking official was detained by NABU detectives. He was reported on suspicion under part 2 of article 255, part 3 of article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the bureau said and added that the investigation is ongoing and NABU is cooperating with 15 countries within the framework of the investigation.
