Lithuania Recorded Two Attempts Of Illegal Border Crossing From The Territory Of Belarus

After 26 quiet days.

On the Day of Restoration of the Lithuanian State, February 16, the State Border Guard Service of this Baltic country prevented two attempts of migrants to illegally cross the border from the territory of Belarus.

The "Pozirkam" analysis of the data published daily by the mentioned agency showed that this is the first case of border violation after 26 quiet days on the Lithuanian-Belarusian section and the fifth since the beginning of 2026 (3 attempts of illegal crossing were stopped on January 1, 10 on January 6, and 1 each on January 19 and 20).

Thereby, for the whole of January and sixteen days of February this year, Lithuania recorded 17 attempts to violate the border from Belarus - 5.1 times less than in the same period of 2025 (87).
