Lukashenko Talked About The Economy's Decline And Protests

  • 17.02.2026, 11:48

The dictator was frightened by the decline in industry.

The economy has become a real battleground on which social protests can erupt, and the time is now "almost wartime". Industry is in recession, and the economy has enough problems, too. Lukashenko said this on February 17, accepting the government report for 2025.

- The time is almost military. Why? The economy has become a real battlefield. Economic tools are used to achieve the goals of classical warfare: to take away resources, to cause social protests, to force to fulfill not our rules - to live by other rules," said Lukashenko.

The dictator drew attention to the decline in industry:

- The whole year there was a steady slowing trend in this most important sphere, in the second half of the year we worked with negative dynamics of 98.2%. January 2026 - another minus 3.4%. Half of the manufacturing industry is in a difficult situation," the politician calculated.

According to him, on the Russian market "only the Ministry of Industry did not reach $1 billion last year":

- All its enterprises are in the red zone. We are seeing a drop in the output of key goods," the usurper complained.
