There was an explosion in the building of the military commandant's office in the Vsevolozhsk district of Russia's Leningrad region, the 112 Telegram channel reported. Information about the incident was later confirmed by the region's governor Alexander Drozdenko, noted RTVI.

"Instructed the power bloc to assist the military in removing the debris and rescuing victims in the collapse of the military police building on the territory of the military unit in Sertolovo. Emergency Situations Ministry units and Lenoblpozhpozhspas are on the spot," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to Mash, the explosion occurred around 14:20 Minsk time. The second and third floors collapsed, as well as attic floors. Telegram channel warns that there is a threat of further collapse of the building. Source 78.ru specifies that the area of the building of the military commandant's office is 15 by 50 square meters.

Mash and 78.ru report that the explosion killed two people. About 3-4 more servicemen may be under the rubble. Emergency services are working at the site.
