Portuguese Foreign Minister Visits The Lithuanian-Belarusian Border

February 16, Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel arrived at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. He is paying an official visit to Lithuania.

As the press service of the Lithuanian border guards informs, the guest was accompanied by Deputy Commander Donatas Škarnulis.

The Portuguese minister was told about the activities of the Lithuanian border guards, threats on the external border of the European Union. He inspected the physical barrier on the border with Belarus.

It is reported that Portugal regularly patrols the airspace over the Baltic. And as part of NATO's Assurance Measures program, Portugal sends its marines to Lithuania to participate in joint exercises.
