The first day of trilateral talks between Ukraine, the USA and Russia has ended in Geneva (Switzerland). This was reported by the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Rustem Umerov in Telegram on February 17.
Umerov said that after the first joint meeting, all participants of the delegation's negotiations worked in groups by areas. The head of the delegation noted that the discussions were focused on practical issues and the mechanics of possible solutions.
"As of today, both the political and military blocs have completed their work. Thank you to our American partners for constructive interaction and readiness to work at a working pace," the head of the delegation said.
He added that a report to the President of Ukraine would be made based on the results of the first day. The political and military groups will continue their work tomorrow morning.
At the same time, the Russian propaganda agency TASS reported, citing its own sources, that "the talks in Geneva were tense".
