Trump Fell Asleep At His First Peace Council

Leaders from about 20 countries attended the meeting.

On Thursday, February 19, U.S. President Donald Trump held the first meeting of the Peace Council in Washington.

The meeting was eventually attended by the leaders of about 20 countries (out of 35 that have officially confirmed their desire to join the Council). Trump himself had time not only to speak and pat everyone on the shoulder on the general protocol photo, but even took a nap during the speech of his colleagues.

Media reports that the first meeting of the Peace Council lasted about three hours. During this time, dozens of politicians had time to take the floor and express their thoughts on the newly created international structure, as well as to make praise speeches to the main organizer - Donald Trump.

So, the president of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev proposed to establish a special Peace Council award named after Trump. According to Tokayev, this would be a kind of sign of recognition for the American president's "outstanding peacebuilding efforts and achievements."

But the main focus of media attention at this Peace Council was still Trump himself: the 79-year-old politician managed to doze off while one of his colleagues was speaking. The shot did not escape the cameras of attentive journalists, and the footage quickly went viral on social networks.

The politician himself has repeatedly reproached his opponent in the last election Joe Biden, who in the last year of his presidency has also been seen pecking his nose at public events.
