Mass detentions of publishers and book distributors took place in Minsk this week. According to the human rights center "Viasna", at least 10 people were detained - some of them were sent to "day" (administrative arrest).

This information is also confirmed by sources of "Nasha Niva" - according to the newspaper, the searches and detentions were not isolated and random, but systematic and planned. Several people were detained in some families. During the searches everyone's cell phones were checked in their apartments and offices. All the detainees have great merits to the Belarusian culture.

Today it became known that the publishing house "Tehnalogia," publishing books and other printed products in the Belarusian language, suspended its work. The message about it appeared on Facebook. "For certain reasons, the publishing house "Tehnalogiya" is not working," reads the account. There are no other explanations in the publication.
