Russians' Winter Plan For Ukraine Fails

The Ukrainians stood their ground.

By hitting Ukraine's energy sector, the aggressor country Russia was trying to create a "total blackout" and informationally fuel the "uprising of Ukrainians." But the enemy's plans failed, the Russian invaders did not achieve their goals.

This was stated on Sunday, February 22, by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) Andrey Kovalenko.

He noted that the enemy was unable to collapse the energy system of Ukraine thanks to the efforts of energy workers and the help of partners.

In addition, the attempts of the Russians to informationally create a "revolution bubble" failed.

"Part of their bots was banally blocked, also the work with the population was conducted 24/7, people let down anger, but they were explained the real situation. This is the case when the truth wins," Kovalenko emphasized.

He added that this is not the first such defeat of the Russian Federation.

Kovalenko pointed out that support for Ukraine in European societies remains stable, even in those countries where Russian propaganda is particularly active.

In addition, the enemy has failed to create a split within the country itself.

"We can say that the Russians are losing the information war, on which they spend billions annually," the head of the CPD summarized.

He noted that by their actions the enemy has not achieved any strategic advantage.

"On the contrary, they lost the narrative about 'persecution of believers in Ukraine' in the West, although they continue to fight for it, they lost the topic of child abduction, they lost the story about accusing Ukraine of not wanting peace, they lost discrediting Ukraine's support in Europe, finally they lost the elections in Moldova too. And many other tracks," Kovalenko emphasized.

And this, he noted, having a huge advantage in resources.
