The Turkish Defense Ministry confirmed the information about the fall of the fighter jet. The military organized a search and rescue operation and found the wreckage of the plane. The Air Crash Investigation Commission is investigating the causes of the incident.

Justice Minister Akin Gürlek announced that the Balıkesir Chief Prosecutor's Office has already launched an investigation into the F-16 crash.
