Zelensky Declared Ukraine's Victory In The War

  • 26.02.2026, 8:41

Moscow has not changed Kiev's course, changed its flag or occupied the country.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said that Ukraine has won the war started by Russia because Moscow has not changed Kiev's course, changed its flag or occupied the country.

According to Fox News.

"Russia has not and will not be able to occupy us. They have not won. And for us it is a victory. We defended our independence and our freedom. We were able to. They didn't change our geopolitical course. They didn't change the country. They didn't replace our flag with their flag. Those are very important things. So I am proud of that," the president said.

He expressed confidence that Moscow now truly recognizes that the war it started was a big mistake.

Zelensky also believes that Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin intends to use the negotiation process to advance his offensive goals. According to him, Putin is playing with US President Donald Trump to delay any negotiations.

"Putin only understands force. He really understands what pressure is. And that's why, I think, he chose a polite way of talking to the Americans. And I think they're playing this game. They're trying to play with the president of the United States... He (Putin - ed.) needs to postpone any negotiations," added Zelensky.

What else Zelensky said about the victory

We will recall, a few days ago, President Vladimir Zelensky gave an interview to the BBC.

In this conversation, the head of state also made statements about the victory of Ukraine. He explained that the victory lies not only in the return of all territories, but also in the preservation of people and independence.

"I believe that to stop (Kremlin head Vladimir Putin - ed.) today and not to allow the occupation of Ukraine is a victory for the whole world. Because Putin will not stop in Ukraine," Zelensky noted.

Commenting specifically on the issue of territories he explained that there are different victories. Zelensky is sure that in the future Ukraine will regain all its lands and it will be a victory of justice.

But if we go and try to take back all the territories now, the country will lose millions of people, and land without people is "nothing".
