The FT called the event the largest round of investment in a startup ever.
ChatGPT artificial intelligence creator OpenAI has raised $110 billion in investment, including $30 billion from SoftBank, $30 billion from Nvidia and $50 billion from Amazon. This follows a statement from the company.
"Today we are announcing a new investment of $110 billion at a preliminary valuation of $730 billion. This includes $30 billion from SoftBank, $30 billion from NVIDIA and $50 billion from Amazon," the statement reads.
The company's total valuation is $730 billion.
The move was the largest round of investment in startups in history, notes Financial Times.
OpenAI has signed a strategic partnership with Amazon and agreed with NVIDIA to provide next-generation computing power. OpenAI expects other players to join the investment soon. The company indicated that the latest partnership agreements are designed to expand our global reach, deepen our infrastructure and balance OpenAI.
OpenAI is preparing to go public by the end of 2026. To that end, the company has spent much of the past year securing significant computing power to support its products and future growth.
As part of its agreement with NVIDIA, OpenAI will use all of the money raised to purchase processors from the company to deploy additional computing power.
