Ilon Musk became the first person in the world whose fortune reached $800 billion after SpaceX acquired artificial intelligence and social media company xAI.

It was reported by Forbes.

The publication estimated that the deal, which values the combined company at $1.25 trillion, increased Musk's fortune by $84 billion, to a record $852 billion.

Before the deal, Musk owned about 42% of SpaceX worth $336 billion. He also owned about 49% of xAI worth $122 billion. After the merger, Musk owns a 43% stake in the combined company worth $542 billion.

This makes SpaceX Musk's most valuable asset today. He also owns a 12% stake in Tesla worth $178 billion and options on Tesla stock worth another $124 billion.

Interestingly, Musk is now a record $578 billion richer than the world's second richest man, Google co-founder Larry Page, whose fortune is estimated at $281 billion.
