Putin Is Trapped In China's Trap

Ukrainian intelligence has shattered the myth of Russia's technological independence.

Despite the Kremlin's statements about accelerated "import substitution," the Russian economy remains critically dependent on foreign technologies.

The press service of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine reports.

The Kremlin planned to achieve 70-90% independence in strategic sectors (aviation, energy, chemistry) by 2030, but the real indicators are significantly behind:

- high-speed rail transport - only 15% of its own production;

- shipbuilding and energy - 30%;

- production of unmanned systems - 40%;

- industrial engineering - about 65%.

The intelligence notes that instead of real independence, Russia simply changed suppliers. In particular, after the restriction of access to Western technologies, the share of China in the supply of microchips to Russia increased to 90%. This forms a threat of long-term unilateral dependence on Beijing.

The SVR noted that due to limited human and production resources, the achievement of the stated goals by 2030 is unlikely.

"The Russian Federation's course on "technological sovereignty" is mainly declarative and is not supported by the available economic opportunities," the intelligence agency said.
