Ukraine's president has named a timeline.

The United States wants the war in Ukraine to end by the summer of 2026. This, as "Novini.LIVE" reports, was stated by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky while speaking to journalists.

According to him, U.S. officials have informed Ukrainian officials that they will do everything to ensure that the war ends by June. To this end, Washington is promoting a clear Sequence Plan.

This schedule envisions specific stages and agreements. In particular, the American side proposes to sign key agreements, including security guarantees, in approximately one time period.

Also, Zelensky once again confirmed that Ukraine will not make concessions on the territories of Donbass. At the same time, the parties have not yet found a common understanding on the nuclear power plant. There are also different views on the free economic zone.

Ukraine and Russia are waiting for a meeting in the United States

The head of state said that the United States proposed that the two negotiating groups meet for the first time in the United States, in Miami, in a week. Ukraine has already confirmed its participation.

In addition, Zelensky said that for the first time the sides discussed that the most difficult issues could certainly be brought to a trilateral meeting of leaders. But this requires preparatory elements.

What timeline for a peace deal the delegations have already discussed

Reuters reported the previous day that according to three sources with knowledge of the matter, U.S. and Ukrainian delegations had discussed the ambitious goal of concluding a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine in March.

While there is no agreement on territories, however, the timeline could shift. According to preliminary agreements, the possible agreement is planned to be put to a referendum and held together with the elections in Ukraine.
