The treatment will last for months.
The son of Chechnya's head of state, 18-year-old Adam Kadyrov, who was involved in a serious road accident in Grozny in mid-January 2026, is still in hospital. His condition is causing concern among doctors. This was reported by the influential Russian Telegram channel "VChK-OGPU", which is linked to the Russian security services.
According to him, Kadyrov's offspring is being treated at the Botkin hospital in Moscow. "When hospitalized ... it was assumed that the most serious injury was a spleen injury. The Chechen head's son underwent surgery and now these injuries are not a cause for concern. Later, however, the doctors encountered another problem. The craniocerebral trauma turned out to be much more serious than the initial studies showed," the Russian resource writes.
He specified that some symptoms appeared, which were not present in the first days after the accident. Initially it was planned that the treatment will take 4 weeks, now doctors are talking about months to recover. According to the channel, information about the patient's actual condition is being carefully concealed, and strict restrictions have been imposed inside the clinic to prevent information leaks.
It is reported that Adam Kadyrov is in Building 9 of Botkin Hospital, which is completely cleared of other patients. Diagnostic equipment, including a CT scanner, is housed in the 8th building. The two buildings are connected by a long passage. When a patient is transported for an examination, the process is accompanied by heavy security.
Sources say a security officer is stationed near the gurney with a device that creates flashes of light and interferes with possible photography or videotaping. Medical personnel among themselves call such movements "light music."
There are no official comments from the Chechen authorities or federal structures on Adam Kadyrov's condition. Russian state media do not cover the topic. Against this background, contradictory versions are appearing in public space.
The accident happened in the evening of January 16 in the center of Grozny. According to independent sources, the car in which Adam Kadyrov was traveling at a speed of about 160 km/h and collided with another car. As a result, the driver of the second car was killed. Various sources reported the number of injured from 4 to 20 people, among them Adam Kadyrov himself and his guards.
One of the guards, Bislan Kaimov, according to human rights organizations, suffered severe head injuries. At first there were reports of a broken jaw, spleen damage and other injuries to the face and body.
By January 21, sources close to the authorities claimed that the patient's condition had stabilized and there was no threat to life. Chechen authorities and federal agencies did not officially comment on the incident. Ramzan Kadyrov published previously recorded videos of his son to refute rumors about his injuries.
