This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Armenia has purchased military drones from the United States. This was announced by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a briefing with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.

Pashinyan noted significant progress in the sphere of military and defense cooperation between the countries.

"Armenia has purchased V-BAT drones from the United States, the effectiveness of which has been proven by rich operational experience," he said.

The deal will strengthen Armenia's defense capabilities, the prime minister said.

This drone, capable of vertical takeoff and landing, was developed by Martin UAV specialists, after which the project was transferred to Shield AI. In 2021, the U.S. Navy selected the V-Bat to prototype and test the drone's use from warships.

The UAV has a wingspan of three meters and a mass of 57 kilograms. It is equipped with a two-cylinder internal combustion engine that helps the craft reach speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour.
