Because of the stoppage of oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
US President Donald Trump has said he will hit Iran 20 times harder if Tehran tries to stop oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
He said in a Truth Social.
"If Iran takes any action that stops the flow of oil in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. will hit it twenty times harder than before," Trump writes.
He added that in addition, the US would destroy easily accessible targets that would make Iran's recovery virtually impossible.
"Death, fire and fury will rain down on it (Iran - ed.) - but I hope and pray that this does not happen," the publication said.
Trump called his warning "a gift from the United States to China and all countries that actively use the Strait of Hormuz." The American president expressed hope that "this gesture will be greatly appreciated."
It should be noted that the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important energy hubs, through which about a fifth of the world's oil supplies pass.
China and a number of other Asian economies depend on crude oil and natural gas supplies through this waterway, which has been virtually closed since the start of the US operation against Iran.
