The National Theater named after Yanka Kupala has a new artistic director. He became a Russian Dmitri Akimov, reports the newspaper "Culture i Mastactva".

Akimov graduated from the faculty of directing of the theater institute named after B. Shchukin in 2018. He has worked as a chief director in a number of Russian theaters.

We will recall that in the summer of 2020, most of the troupe quit Kupalovsky in protest against the falsification of the results of the "elections" and the violence of law enforcers.
