To defend against Iranian Shahed-type attack drones.

Saudi Arabia is negotiating with Ukraine to purchase a large batch of interceptor drones that can be used to defend against Iranian Shahed-type attack drones. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources.

According to the publication's interlocutors, the potential deal could be worth millions of dollars. However, the final agreement between the parties has not been signed yet.

Riyadh is also reportedly discussing the possibility of purchasing electronic warfare systems from Ukraine.

Interest in Ukrainian developments is also shown by other Persian Gulf states. In particular, representatives of Qatar have already visited Ukraine to study technologies to counter drones.

According to WSJ, Ukraine's system of countering drones is not limited only to air defense missiles. It also includes so-called interceptor drones, which are capable of destroying enemy drones by crashing into them or detonating nearby.

In addition, Ukraine is actively using electronic warfare, which suppresses the control and navigation signals of enemy drones.
