The Verkhovna Rada appealed to Poland, the Baltic States and Finland.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution with an appeal to the governments of Poland, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to "initiate a complete ban on export-import operations for legal entities (trade and transit of goods) with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus," the website of the Ukrainian parliament reported on March 11.

In the document, the Ukrainian parliament expresses gratitude to the above countries for "comprehensive support of Ukraine in countering the aggression of the Russian Federation, as well as for the key role in strengthening the country's position in the region. The largest buyers of Belarusian goods were Poland - €436.4 million, Lithuania - €188.8 million, Latvia - €177.5 million, Germany - €145.47 million, while Belarus imported the most from Poland - €2.07 billion.

The Verkhovna Rada urged the governments of these countries "to consider the possibility of imposing a complete ban on export-import operations for legal entities, including trade and transit of goods with Russia and Belarus, as well as to seek EU support for the inclusion of appropriate restrictions in future sanctions packages."

The document notes that the introduction of a full trade embargo on the EU's eastern borders will be an important step to increase economic pressure on the aggressor states and strengthen the security of Ukraine and the whole of Europe.
