Russian authorities have confirmed the attack.
On the night of March 12, SBU drones hit the Tikhoretsk oil pumping station in the Krasnodar region. This is one of the largest oil hubs in southern Russia.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing sources.
Sources say that the facility was hit by drones of the SBU's Alpha Special Operations Center.
The attack resulted in a large-scale fire: the video shows several sources of ignition, presumably burning fuel tanks.
Tikhoretsk oil hub is one of the largest oil transshipment points in the region, where a large oil depot and terminal are located. The facility plays an important role in the logistics of Russian fuel and oil products, particularly delivery to the port of Novorossiysk.
Russian authorities confirmed the attack and said that 26 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
Sources said that in early March, the SBU, together with the Defense Forces, had already conducted successful strikes on the oil infrastructure of the port of Novorossiysk.
Today's defeat of the Tikhoretsk oil hub, which is the main channel for supplying oil products to Novorossiysk, was a significant blow to Russia's logistics.
"Such systemic special operations of the SBU create disruptions in supplies, complicate the transportation of oil products to ports and force the enemy to change logistics routes. Combined, this weakens both Russia's military capabilities and its economic ability to wage war," an informed source in the SBU said.
