Belarusian Basketball Is Headed By A Handball Player, Who Was In Charge Of Tennis

Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov has been removed as head of the Belarusian Basketball Federation, state media reported. The BFB was headed by handball player Sergei Rutenko, who previously headed the Belarusian Tennis Federation.

The election of a new chairman was preceded by a report on the work of Ryzhenkov, who had headed the federation since 2014. After the report, the Foreign Minister vacated the BFB position, urging those present to vote in favor of Rutenko. Those unanimously supported the candidacy of the former handball player, who previously served as chairman of the Belarusian Tennis Federation.
