Chancellor Mertz Criticized The U.S.

Because of the lifting of sanctions on the Russian Federation.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, commenting on the US decision to lift oil sanctions against Russia, called it wrong, reports Reuters.

"We think it is wrong. Now there is a problem with prices but not with supply. And in that respect, I would like to know what other factors prompted the U.S. government to make this decision."

Reminder, the U.S. issued a new Russia-related general license on Thursday. It authorizes the sale of Russian crude oil and petroleum products loaded on ships until April 11.
