He was handed a bottle of water from the Dniester.
Russia's appointed ambassador to Moldova, Oleg Ozerov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and handed a note of protest over Russian shelling that led to a leak of oil products into the Dniester River.
How the Moldovan Foreign Ministry reported that bottles of water from the Dniester River were also brought to the meeting with Ozerov.
"The Republic of Moldova strongly condemns this attack, which led to the leakage of oil products into the Dniester River, creating great risks for the environment and the security of Moldova's water supply. The Dniester River provides water to about 80% of the country's population and 98% of Chisinau residents," the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that such actions with a large transboundary impact threaten the environment, the security of water supply and the health of Moldovan citizens.
We recall that on March 15, the Moldovan government introduced an environmental alert regime in the Dniester River basin for 15 days.
