The record for 2026 daily activity of migrants, seeking to illegally enter the European Union from the Belarusian territory, was recorded by Latvia and Lithuania on March 16, according to the analysis of data of the border services of these Baltic states, conducted by "Pozirkam".

Latvia stopped 45 such attempts. The previous record this year was set the day before, when Latvian border guards prevented 15 cases of border violations.

Lithuania prevented 15 such attempts in the past 24 hours - for the first time after 17 quiet days. For this country, the record number of border violation episodes this year was January 6 - 10 attempts.

The highest daily activity of migrants on the borders of neighboring Baltic states was almost three months ago - December 18, 2025, when Latvia prevented 69 such attempts, and Lithuania - 17.
