Iran Has Already Been "helped": Now Russia Promises Aid To Cuba

Putin's spokesman is dishing out promises.

Russia is ready to provide assistance to Cuba and maintains contacts with it at the working and expert level. This was stated by the Russian dictator's spokesman Dmitri Peskov during a meeting with journalists, Interfax reported.

"You know that we maintain contacts with the Cuban leadership both at the expert and working levels. Cuba is an independently sovereign state that is facing great economic difficulties because of the stifling embargo that has been imposed on that country. And, of course, we are ready to provide all possible assistance," Peskov said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry was not left out either. "Amid an artificially inflamed atmosphere of confrontation, Russia reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with the government and the fraternal people of Cuba. <...> For our part, we provide and will continue to provide Cuba with the necessary support," the statement of the ministry reads.

We should recall that shortly before the US and Israeli operation in Iran, Moscow made similar statements of support and assistance to the ayatollahs' regime, but failed to stand up for its allies.
