The U.S. did not consult with its partners.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb said the United States did not consult with allies before going to war with Iran.
This was reported by Yle on Tuesday, March 17.
The fact that the United States did not hold consultations, Stubb explained the fact that European NATO member countries do not express a desire to help the United States with unblocking the Strait of Hormuz.
"If the United States did not consult with partners in advance and did not inform about the upcoming events, the approach will be different," said Stubb, who is on a visit to London. He recalled that the United States consulted allies before launching operations in Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan.
As for Finland itself, Stubb said, it does not have the resources to participate in the operation in the Strait of Hormuz.
"We do not have the kind of equipment that could be sent to this region. In any case, Finland's task in the Alliance is to take care of security in the north-east of Europe," Alexander Stubb emphasized.
