Belarusian Army Starts "complex Exercises" In The West Of The Country

Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported that a comprehensive exercise with the troops of the Western Operational Command started on March 19. It will be commanded by Chief of the General Staff of Belarus Pavel Muraveiko, and will last until March 25, reports "Telegraf".
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) says that the exercise will be one of the main events within the framework of inspections of the Belarusian army, which began back in winter.
In the course of the exercise, the Defense Ministry plans to "work out the full management cycle in the troops of the operational association, as well as to assess in practice the readiness of the tested military units to perform their intended tasks."
Major General Pavel Muraveiko said in connection with the start of the exercise that it was based on "the most modern military and political situation, as well as the achievements of military art in the field of development of means of armed struggle."
The maneuvers will be held at firing ranges and terrain in Brest and Minsk regions.
"We plan to work out the preparation of defensive lines and positions with reliance on resistance nodes, areas of barriers, while making maximum use of the local industrial and administrative base," said the head of the General Staff.
According to Muraveiko, during the exercise, they will use UAVs, REB and practice long-range firing.
"It is not excluded that within the active stage of the exercise will be practiced active actions of mechanized and tank units to combat illegal armed groups, sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy, as well as the reflection of possible attacks and active maneuver," the general said.
