US President Donald Trump's special envoy to Belarus John Cole arrived in Minsk on March 19 for talks with Lukashenko, according to a Telegram channel close to the dictator's press service.

The meeting began at Lukashenko's palace in Minsk.

Earlier, on March 18, Cole visited Lithuania, where he met with Prime Minister Inga Ruginenė. She expressed gratitude for the active efforts to release political prisoners in Belarus. The meeting also discussed the security situation in the region.
