She spent more than five years behind bars.

Journalist Ekaterina Andreeva is expected to be deported from Belarus to Lithuania, reports "Viasna".

The journalist of "Belsat" was arrested on November 15, 2020, when she, along with Darya Chultsova, was streaming from the "Square of Changes" in Minsk, where the march in memory of Roman Bondarenko was held. The law enforcers detained both journalists.

After seven days of administrative arrest, Katerina was not released and was transferred to the isolation center in Zhodzina. On February 18, 2021 she was sentenced to two years of imprisonment under Article 342 of the Criminal Code - for "organizing and preparing actions that grossly violate public order".

February 10, 2022 Andreeva was transferred from penal colony No. 4 to Gomel pre-trial detention center, where a new criminal case was opened against her - under Article 356 of the Criminal Code for "treason against the state".

July 4, 2022 her case was considered in Gomel Regional Court in closed mode, and on July 13 she was sentenced: 8 years and 3 months of imprisonment under a reinforced regime. The appeal, considered on September 20, did not change the verdict.

In October 2022, the journalist was transferred to Gomel penal colony No. 4. The Interior Ministry included her in the list of "extremists".
