US President Donald Trump says he has asked Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu not to attack oil and gas fields in Iran. According to the American president, Netanyahu agreed to the request.
"We get along great. Everything is agreed," Trump said during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi (broadcast on the White House YouTube channel). That said, sometimes Benjamin Netanyahu "can do something" that the US opposes, the American president added.
On March 18, the Israeli army struck the South Pars oil and gas field in southern Iran. The operation of several facilities at the field was suspended. Donald Trump said he was unaware of Israel's plans to strike the field. Earlier, the White House asked not to strike Iran's energy infrastructure, Axios reported.
