CNN: U.S. Preparing Massive Arms Shipments To The Middle East

The administration of US President Donald Trump has decided to expedite billions of dollars worth of arms sales to the UAE, Kuwait and Jordan, bypassing Congress due to threats from Iran.

This is reported by CNN.

According to the publication, the U.S. State Department released the rationale for the emergency situation, which allows for the waiver of requirements for a lengthy review of the agreements by lawmakers.

The move is explained by the need to immediately strengthen the defense capabilities of allies in the Persian Gulf.

The agency said these countries are becoming targets for Iranian attacks in response to U.S. and Israeli military action.

The largest aid package is for the United Arab Emirates, where the deal is worth nearly $8.4 billion.

It includes the delivery of advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles, ammunition for F-16 fighter jets, as well as small drone defeat systems and radar stations integrated with THAAD systems.

In addition, Kuwait will receive $8 billion worth of air and missile defense radars.

For Jordan, there is a $70.5 million package to be used for aviation support, ammunition and spare parts.

In early March 2026, the Trump administration already used the emergency solution mechanism to immediately sell 12,000 aerial bombs to Israel, bypassing Congress.
