  • 2.03.2026, 10:02

Passenger service has been suspended.

Turkey has closed three border crossings with Iran, Trade Minister Omer Bolat said.

He did not specify when exactly this happened. Bolat also emphasized that there is no "emergency situation" at the border crossings.

"The transportation of commercial goods between all three border crossings and the Iranian side continues under controlled conditions. Daily passenger traffic <...> is mutually suspended," he clarified (quoted by Anadolu).

Bolat said security measures in the border region have been strengthened following the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, and preparations are being discussed to further strengthen coordination between all relevant state institutions. "All our units are on high alert and continue to fulfill their duties," the minister said.
