In February 2026, the number of attempts of illegal border crossing by Belarus recorded by neighboring EU countries increased 3.5 times - from 28 to 97 - compared to January, according to the analysis of operational data of their border services, conducted by "Pozirkam".

Poland registered 52 attempts (13; 4-fold increase), Lithuania - 25 (15; +66.7%), Latvia - 20 (0).

Compared to February 2025, the activity of migrants in statistical terms decreased by 7.1 times.

For two months of 2026, the neighboring EU countries recorded 125 attempts to enter their territory from Belarus.

The past winter was the coldest for almost five years of the migration crisis (started in the spring of 2021).
