A video from the cockpit of the fighter jet has been published.
The Israel Defense Forces has released cockpit video of an IAF fighter jet showing the moment it evaded an Iranian air defense system launch during an operation over Tehran.
In the published footage, the pilots can be heard talking. The pilots report missile re-launches and the need to change the flight path. In one of the fragments it is heard: "Another launch, an additional launch. It's taking us off course, we're going above the clouds." The video also shows the trail of the missile passing away from the airplane. The Army press office called the episode a successful missile evasion.
The Israeli Air Force has flown about a thousand combat sorties to strike targets inside Iran since the start of the operation, according to the military.
The U.S. Air Force has also joined the strikes. At a Pentagon briefing, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Kane said the U.S. military had used tens of thousands of munitions in the first two days.
The operation involved B-2 strategic bombers, which made a 37-hour flight from the United States to Iran and back. They used precision-guided penetrating munitions to hit underground targets in the south of the country, Kane said.
