What do you think of this lifting of sanctions?
Journalist Viktor Malishevsky drew attention to an interesting detail related to the lifting of sanctions of the United States of America from the Belarusian regime:
- And now that the United States has lifted sanctions from our Ministry of Finance in exchange for hostages, Belarus will have to pay debts that we have successfully ignored for several years, citing these sanctions.
For example, the Ministry of Finance owes $2.67 billion to the holders of Belarusian Eurobonds alone.
And there's also the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (almost $1 billion).
How do you like this lifting of sanctions?
Reminder, the U.S. removes sanctions from Belinvestbank, the Development Bank of Belarus and the Ministry of Finance. In exchange, the Lukashenko regime released 250 political prisoners.
