The document is returned to Belarus.

A rare edition of the Statute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania of the 18th century has been returned to Belarus. It's about the book of 1744, published in Vilnius in Polish.

It is noteworthy that the fourth section of the document enshrines the norm of record keeping in the Old Belarusian language.

The copy was purchased at a Sotheby's auction by the author of the idea and creator of the park-museum of interactive history "Sula" Andrei Zapolski, reported on the website of the institution.

The Statute will now be kept in "Sula" and will be available to visitors.

It should be noted that earlier, two years ago, Zapolsky also bought and returned to Belarus the book "The Great Art of Artillery" of 1650 by Kazimir Semenovich, a native of these lands.

The patron of the arts plans to return to the country the original edition of the Statute of the GDL, printed in Old Belarusian.
