Admiral Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Army Central Command, said U.S. strikes have resulted in a "degradation" of the ability of Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to attack vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, the command's press office reported in X March 21.

Cooper said U.S. forces struck an underground Iranian Army facility. The facility contained radar systems that allowed monitoring of shipping traffic.

"The strike destroyed reconnaissance support stations and radar stations that were used to monitor ship traffic.... As a result, Iran's ability to threaten freedom of navigation in and around the Strait of Hormuz is diminished," Cooper noted.
