Belarusians "disconnected" From The External Internet For Two Days

  • 25.03.2026, 13:40

The authorities were afraid of the Day of Will.

In Belarus, access to sites on virtual hosting from abroad will be restricted from 20:00 March 24 to 08:00 March 26. This was warned by the provider HB.BY.

According to the company, the Operational and Analytical Center under the President of the Republic of Belarus has recorded a threat of destructive actions in cyberspace. In accordance with the Presidential Decree № 40 "On cybersecurity," hosting providers are obliged to take protective measures.

For users inside the country, sites will be available in the usual mode. However, resources using external integrations - payment systems, APIs of foreign services or external widgets - may work unstably during this period.

The authorities' actions are timed to coincide with the Day of Will - the holiday of the Belarusian People's Republic, which has become a symbol of resistance to Lukashenko's regime.
