Residents Of Buryatia Were Offered To Give Part Of Their Monthly Salary To Support The War

Most of the budget institutions have already supported the "initiative".

The authorities of Buryatia in the Russian Federation have urged residents to transfer a part of their monthly salary to the needs of participants in the war against Ukraine, writes The Moscow Times.

The proposal came from the Council of Heads of the Kabansky district, Baikalskiye Ogny reports. The recommended amount is 300 rubles. "In our district the minimum wage is now equal to 40,639 rubles, 25% of daily earnings were taken as a basis. For one person, 300 rubles is an insignificant amount," the officials said.

They reminded that now in Buryatia from time to time there is a "campaign to collect one day's earnings" to support the war. In their opinion, this practice is ineffective, as it sometimes becomes "a heavy burden on the family budget", as a result of which "funds are not evenly distributed". The new approach is designed to ensure a stable and regular inflow of money, because modern equipment that is requested at the front "is expensive and is needed immediately," the officials emphasized. According to them, most of the institutions financed from the district budget, as well as the Kaban central district hospital, have already supported the initiative: employees "have written applications to withhold funds for the fighters' requests".
