The regime is urgently building a new border outpost close to Ukraine.
Belarus plans to build another border outpost on the border with Ukraine.
According to the publication "Flagstok".
So, in Homel voblast, just a few hundred meters from the border with Ukraine, the construction of a new border outpost complex begins. Details of the construction became known from the tender documentation of the Gomel Regional Department of Capital Construction, which was investigated by journalists of the publication "Flagstaff".
The new militarized facility will be built in Narovlya district, near the village of Svecha. The construction site has been chosen as close to Ukraine as possible - just 860 meters from the village, right next to the Ukrainian border.
The plan is that the outpost in Svecha will be a copy of the facility in the village of Borovoye, opened in 2024. The complex will include:
administrative building and a hostel for the military;
a communications tower and a kennel for service dogs;
autonomous infrastructure: its own gas station and powerful diesel generators;
special areas for storing engineering equipment and combat training.
The total area of the land plot is 6.5 hectares. The cost of the work is estimated at almost 1 million Belarusian rubles (about 300 thousand dollars), and the construction is planned to be completed by the beginning of August 2026.
The RBC-Ukraine.html">RBC-Ukraine believes that the urgent construction of the military facility is due to Lukashenko's fear of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Ukrainian edition notes that the facility is only part of a large-scale program of militarization of southern Belarus. Thus, in early 2026, the State Border Committee of Belarus announced its intention to open five new complexes in Homel and Brest voblasts.
