The president warned senior IRGC officials of the Islamic Republic's imminent "collapse."

A sharp disagreement has emerged between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Ahmad Vahidi over the conduct of the war and its devastating impact on civilians and the economy.

This is reported by Iran International TV channel (translated by cursorinfo.co.il).

According to unconfirmed reports, the president criticized the IRGC's approach to the escalating conflict and ongoing attacks on neighboring countries, warning of serious economic consequences. He noted that without a ceasefire, Iran's economy could collapse within three to four weeks.

Even in the first week of the war, it became known that Pezeshkian was unhappy with the expansion of the conflict into neighboring countries: he apologized to Arab states on television for the rocket attacks, which drew the ire of the IRGC leadership.

According to the channel's source, the president demanded that the IRGC return control to civilian authorities, but Ahmad Vahidi rejected the demand. In response, the IRGC chief sharply criticized the government, blaming it for the crisis due to the lack of reforms before the military action

In Iran, citizens are experiencing significant difficulties in accessing money: ATMs are not working and banks' online services are functioning intermittently. Prices are rising not gradually, but literally by the hour, with the cost of some products rising by 50% since February. It is estimated that about 40% of the country's population lives below the poverty line, and in Tehran this figure is as high as half of the population.
